The KPI Catalog is a helpful tool to centrally define and document your company’s KPIs:
KPI Documentation
The KPI Catalog allows you to maintain, check and document your company’s KPIs. KPIs can be freely grouped, e.g. by business or application area. With just one click, a KPI Briefing Book can be generated.
For documentation purposes you can enter the responsible persons either from a business point of view and a technical (BI) point of view. You can include detailed descriptions and even upload files to include all information about the KPI.
Last but not least you can also attach BI reports which describe the KPIs values in further detail or allow to measure the improvement of the KPI.
Data Sources and Score Determination
Various data sources can be bound to an KPI: A BI Query Keyfigure, SAP Function Module or Web Service. If necessary, you can even create your own implementation to retrieve / calculate the KPI values.
For analysis in a Balanced Scorecard or Root-Cause Analysis, the KPI’s values have to be translated into scores and ratings. The KPI Catalog offers a powerful feature for these determinations – the Score Determination. This feature not only allows you to choose between stepwise or linear calculation of the scores, but furthermore to define different scorings for different filters!
Hence you can flexibly navigate and filter during analysis of a KPI, without worsening the results e.g. because you filter on a certain country and therewith decrease the KPI value. The system will always determine the best applicable scoring.
Influence and Root-Cause Analysis
The KPI Catalog also allows you to build up influencing chains, i.e. which other KPIs influence a specific KPI and how strong this influence is. This information is visualized in the Root-Cause Analysis.
